Snapshots and memories of my recent works made for stage and screen dapple the opening of this group dance. The piece, anchored by a solo dancer drinking alone at a table up left for the first 9 minutes, echoes my continual research into memory and letting go. This fierce and haunting ride ends with The Drinker’s solo, a lamenting structured improvisation that weaves grief and denial, gesture and off-balanced whirling.
