This award-winning film, made pre-tenure, continues to be screened at international festivals and is one of the subjects discussed in “The Feminist Body Reimagined in Two Dimensions,” by Cara Hagan, a chapter in the book Dance’s Duet with the Camera: Motion Pictures, edited by Telory D. Arendell and Ruth Barnes. In this short film, pressures of producing take on new meaning after pumping milk between meetings and gigs in airplane bathrooms and gas station stalls. “more” peeks into the extremes that shaped my internal world as I pumped out food for my child and new work as an undeterred artist. The effort of the piece was real, as the giant hoop skirt, made from over 200 milk jugs, created about 200 pounds of suctions, putting my Graham background to work, replicating the challenges of returning to dance after childbirth, the struggle of achieving tenure as a new mom, all while serving as the Dance Program Director.
